Designed2Use builds standalone WordPress plugins to professional, production standards — code your site can rely on for years, not a weekend hack.
We design, build and maintain WordPress plugins under the Designed2Use brand, from a single focused tool to full plugin suites with free and Pro editions. Every plugin we ship is built the way WordPress core intends: secure, translatable, accessible, and ready for the WordPress.org directory.
What we do
Whether you need a bespoke plugin for your own site, a commercial product to sell, or someone to take over a tangle of existing custom code, we build it to last.
– Custom plugins — purpose-built functionality for your site, with no bloat and no feature you’ll never use.
– Commercial plugin suites — free editions for WordPress.org and paid Pro editions with licensing, automatic updates and an upgrade path that never breaks the free version.
– WooCommerce integrations — ticketing, bookings, custom order flows and Store API work, built to be fully optional so your site still works without WooCommerce.
How we build
The difference between a plugin that quietly works for years and one that breaks on the next WordPress update is in the engineering. Here’s the standard we hold ourselves to on every project.
Secure by default. Every input is sanitised, every output escaped, every state-changing request protected by nonces and capability checks. All database queries use prepared statements. Security isn’t a feature we add later — it’s how the code is written from the first line.
Built on WordPress, not around it. We use the APIs WordPress gives us — the Settings API, the REST API, custom post types, the block editor, cron, transients — instead of reinventing them. That means your plugin behaves the way you, your editors and other plugins expect.
Theme-friendly. Our frontends render through real WordPress pages and template parts, so they inherit your theme’s look across both block and classic themes. No fragile template takeovers, no “works on one theme only” surprises.
Accessible and translatable. Keyboard navigation, ARIA, screen-reader support and proper focus handling are part of the build, not an afterthought. Every user-facing string is translation-ready.
Extensible. We ship a documented hook and shortcode API so you — or any developer you bring on later — can extend the plugin without touching its internals. Documentation is part of “done,” not a follow-up.
WordPress.org ready. Our free plugins pass the official Plugin Check with zero errors and follow the WordPress Coding Standards, so they’re fit for the directory and for your reputation.
A plugin you can grow with
We don’t gate features behind a paywall to make a point. When we build a free-and-Pro suite, every free feature stays fully functional forever — Pro adds capability *alongside* it. Your users are never left with a teaser, and you’re never stuck with a plugin that holds your own site hostage.
See it in action: Designed2Use Events
Our own events calendar plugin is built to exactly these standards — a standalone WordPress events calendar with month and list views, venue maps, iCal feeds, accessible navigation, and optional WooCommerce ticketing that never gets in the way if you don’t need it. It’s the proof of how we work: clean, secure, extensible, and ready for the directory.
